Glaciers are thickened ice masses made of fallen snow that compressed into large, thickened ice masses, over many years. Most of the glaciers are frozen freshwater. Glaciers are formed when snow remains in 1 place for many years. In that many years the snows transform into ice. Every year a new layer of snow adding up and transforming into ice creates glaciers.
